Amazing Alphabetical Alliteration Makes Real Relationships Rule

Today we used Screencastify with Tania and we used it on our critter alliteration I said the front page and letter L and I also helped Ana Maria do her letter. Screencastify is an app on the top of our Chromebooks and some other digital devices.  With Screencastify you can video the screen but you can also do it with other apps. you press a couple buttons but after that you are ready to video.  If I had to rate this app it would be eight out of ten. In the future I personally don't think it will be that use full.  

Cross Country Goals

W.A.L.T use green screen for our cross country. My goal is to pace myself throughout the race. I am going to achieve my goal by running with my dad every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.My reflection is to become faster and stronger throughout the time that we have.

             First we took a video of us running from one side of the field to the goal post. second we went to the class and grouped all of the paper that had our goals, how and reflections.

              Thirdly got called in and then we did our green screening. We had a big green sheet behind us. It was awesome. I am going to practice every day but i'm still going to run with my Dad. since I have a trampoline I can practice on there. 
             My favourite part about cross country is that after mum takes me to get ice-cream. I personally don't like cross country because I lost my shoe last time. So this time I'm not going to ware shoes.            

Amazing Alphabetical Alliteration makes Real Relationships Rule

W.A.L.T. write an alliteration describing a relationship between two creatures. We used a shared Google Doc to write our alliteration. In a shared Google Slide we had to add a background then inserted png images of the critters 
the hard bit was finding the png images because it will always be pictures with backgrounds.

Choco and M and M Icecream

This week for reading our group (Kaitlin, Nevaeh and Zara) read a story about Joy Cowley who lives in an isolated area Seventy kilometres away from ice cream. Ice cream is one of her favourite treats so she has to make her own. We followed her recipe but chose to change the kiwi fruit for Chocolate and banana M and M's. Next time we will not add as many chips and M and M's and we'll make a triple batch so the whole class can have a taste.

            

I.A.L.T. identify the time taken to complete tasks. We had to estimate three tasks in seconds, three in minutes and three tasks in hours. We used a stop watch and the AA Travel distance guide to help us. It was hard thinking about what you would write. 

Joy Cowley's Ice Cream Recipe

You will need:

1 cup of condensed milk

1 cup cream

1 cup of mashed banana

Chocolate chips

Beat the condensed milk, cream, and banana

Pour the mixture into container.

Put the container in the freezer.

When ice cream is half frozen. (about 2 hours),

Beat the mixture again.

Return to the freezer

And leave until 5 minutes( soft ice cream) leave until frozen (frozen ice cream)

Fractions

W.A.L.T. to make a fractions wall. First we had to cut twelve pieces of paper the same length.  First we glued one whole strip, then we folded another strip in 1/2 before cutting it in half and gluing it on our wall. We repeated this process in 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/7, 1/8, 1/9, 1/10, 1/12ths. We saw patterns when we cut 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, and 1/12. We saw another pattern when we cut 1/3, 1/6 and  1/9.  We saw another pattern with 1/5 and 1/10.
The hard bit was cutting them exactly the correct length so we didn't do 1/7 or 1/11.  

Haiku

I.A.L.T write a Haiku. Haiku have lines and they go 5,7,5

Cinquain

I.A.L.T write a cinquain. In Cinquains the lines go 2, 4, 6, 8, 2. it was difficult trying to make the lines have the right amount of syllables in them.
